You have a
dream!

I know you
do. It might be buried 6 feet below in a coffin, beneath a pile of ‘life
happens’ but you still have a dream.

You might
need to rent some heavy duty machinery just to break down the concrete
plastered over it’s tomb stone but you still have a dream.

It might be
down to bare bones. No flesh. No heart. No blood.

It might
look impossible but you still have a dream.

Living with
a closet full of ‘I wonder what could (be) have been‘ can be
devastating.

The good
news is your dead dreams not really dead. Maybe in a coma or crippled but not
dead.

Unless
you’re a Zombie or a robot then it is statistically impossible for your dream to
be dead because you’re not dead.

It might not
breathe excited and exuberant life like it did when you were 18 but it’s there
and it’s calling out to you!

His voice
might be a faint whisper. And her voice, perhaps, a thunderous uproar. Honestly
it really doesn’t matter because our dreams all have the same cry.

Take a step today.

Not
tomorrow.

Today.

Right now.

Just take a
step.

A step
towards your dream.

Go.

Move.

Tell her/him
how you feel.

Do it.

Type these
words “Chapter 1.”

Go for the
audition.

Apply for
that position.

Pick up a
brochure.

Apply to
THAT school.

Buy that
plane ticket.

Make that
phone call.

Sing.

Write your
first blog post.

Look up
adoptions.

Apply for a
passport.

Tell your
parents.

Initiate
that hard conversation.

Save the
first dollar.

Just take a
step.

Then take
another. And another. And as you keep moving, look for the most obvious signs
that you’re coming closer to your dream: Failure
and Uncertainty.

When she says
no. And you get a rejection letter. And no one likes you music. And its not
progressing EXACTLY how you pictured, smile because you’re so close!

No one has
ever accomplished anything significant in Gods story without face-planting in
failure and uncertainty. No one!

Be
encouraged by that fact but also remember that no one has ever played in Gods
story without taking a small step.

Gods will
for your life is a path of faith. He already gave you a dream. GO AFTER IT!
Perhaps, the reason you’re not moving is because you gave up.

God has
called us to walk by faith meaning you’re NEVER going to know with 100%
certainty.

So, just
take a small step of faith today. I know it’s scary but you can do it.

Your dream
is NOT dead but it may need a little CPR.

As for me, I’m applying to Dental School. That’s my dream. And I’m going after it!!

What small step can
you take today towards your dream(s)?

Also, if you’re up
for sharing, what are some dreams you have for your life?

(Recently, I wrote CONFESSIONS OF A REJECT and received so many encouraging
emails and blog comments. “Your Dream is Not Dead” is a result of those
emails/comments to pass on the encouragement that I received from all of you.
Stay encouraged family. God has so much planned for you.)

I’M COMING HOME TOMORROW!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! 🙂
