At the expense of originality, I’m going to start a series of blog posts that I’ve seen past Racers create: eleven entries highlighting important facts about each of the eleven countries my squad will visit. While others on my team might also be doing something similar, this is a great way for me to personally prepare for this journey, and I hope you are able to learn a few things, as well.
So, in each of these eleven remaining weeks before July 2010 arrives, I will feature one of the countries on our mission (see the official route here):

Because we won’t know what’s in store for us during our ninth month until we are actually in Africa, I’ll have to wait and see what I’m inspired to write about the week of June 13-19.
