Our time in Nicaragua has just started and I want to share a little bit about what is happening. On our third day here we went to a nearby village called Bethel. We were told we had about two hours to simply walk around, meet people, and basically go where we felt led. Well, after about fifteen minutes of wandering about aimlessly. Liz and I were told to go meet a woman named Connie who was apperently the bomb. We got diretions and found our way to her house. But before we went in, right out front of her house we met three little girls and introduced ourselves as best we could.

After about five minutes of hanging out with them , we went in and met Connie, who was about as baller as you can get. She had a huge pet parrot that would sing worship songs to us and then bite us. Awesome, I know. But we were standing there with a few of the others from our squad and I just kept looking out into the street at these little girls playing and giggling everytime I looked over at them. And after about five minutes of fighting down the urge to go out and play with them.
I went out, and played with them.
I siezed the oppurtunity that God placed in front of me and went out and simply sat with them fo a while, listening to their questions in spanish that I didn't understand at all. Then for some reason a massive ticlke fight broke out, which then turned into all three of them chasing me up and down the street for a while. After about twenty more minutes of random playing and things of that nature.
I had to leave.
Which absolutely broke my heart.
But I know I'll have more oppurtunity's to play with them and spend time with them. Which brings me to today, when we did get to go back. In one of those random World Race moments that are ridiculous, we went back and played stickball with them and several of the boys from the area as well. The thing is though, the ball we were using was actually an empty peroxide bottle, and there just so happened to be sewage ditches that ran right through our "field". I'm absolutely loving Nicaragua, my time here is going to be great. I know it already.

Playing stickball with the kids.

Precious little Nidania and I.

After playing for rougly an hour and a half. Yes, it was intense.

And, of course, our feet are disgusting after a day in the village of Bethel.

One of my little girls, I'm gonna be with them every chance I get.

Some more stickball action, the boys' team won. Big surprise.

I love these little girls.
I love Nicaragua.
I love my life.
