You’re off and away!
That is the start of my favorite book, you know the one, "Oh the Places You’ll Go!" by none other than Dr. Seuss. There is something about this book that is inspiring. I think it is the fact that this little guy just gives everything up and leaves to find something, something better. Well little did I know was that as I grew up being read this book and then as I transitioned to reading this book to those around me, that this book was my future. That’s right, today is the day. It came so fast. I’m pretty sure there should be a prequel to this book. You know, the part before he leaves, where this little guy is just working, living an ordinary life and then BAM! He’s called to do something extraordinary. After tearful goodbyes and a couple looks back upon what he’s leaving behind … the good memories of college, the amazing time he had the summer before he left, the phenomenal parents that raised him and all the memories with his sisters he adores. At least if my life was any more similar to his, that is what the this prequel would look like. But TODAY is the DAY, the DAY to go off to great places. So today I leave, with anticipation and a bit of healthy anxiety into the unknown, only knowing that wherever this journey leads I will be with a great group of people, my new family if you will. But today is not just my day to go off away, today we all embark on something new … a challenge of God, to do what he has called us to do, because:
“Today is Your day! Your mountain is waiting. So….Get on your way!”
