Looking back on my college experience I’m trying to sum up the things that I have learned from the four years of study. I think that I have come up to three things that I can take away from my experience is: follow God, don’t be afraid to ask for help and strive to change the world.
The first thing I have taken away is that no matter what He calls you to it is vital that we always follow the will of God. Though at times it just may seem easier to go one’s own way, at the end of the day I have learned that no matter what the other options are the way that God has laid out is the best way to go. Throughout my college career the one things that has shaped and developed my faith the most is the risks that God has called me to take and though at the time it did not seem like it was going to work out I would not have changed any of the decisions or risks I have taken in faith.
Second, I have learned don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s simple but throughout college I have learned to seek out wisdom from those around me. The greatest thing that helped me through these years whenever things were not going great was when I would humble myself and seek out help from the people that God has placed around me. What I came to find is that whenever things seem to be going wrong or the world seems to be coming at you with full force God always seems to place the right people around you to support you and lift you up in your time of need as long as you can ask for help and let someone know that you’re struggling.
The finally thing that I have learned is always strive to change the world. I think that people have a tendency to lose sight of their dreams, lose hope that they can do anything, but college has taught me is the opposite and as long as I hold on to faith and love God and love people nothing is impossible through Him. I have had some awesome opportunities throughout college to do great ministries and I have been able to seen parts of the world changed as God worked through me and now I get to go serve other for eleven months as I continue with my goal to change the world for the glory of God!
