I can’t believe that it is already month 11 of the World Race! I am now in Moldova…it is a small country that is between Romania and Ukraine. I had never heard of this place until the World Race and here I am.
You want to talk about ending the World Race with a bang, lets talk about it. I am living in a small village in a house with my team. The girls are all in one room sleeping on 2 full size matresses on the floor while the boys are in another room. We have a very small kitchen that has a 2 burner gas stove, a refridgirator and a couple of tables. We are incharge of cooking our own food this month which is amazing because this means that we get to control what we eat. Our toilet is outside the house, toilet is the wrong word, it actually is a squatty potty. We also have a shower that is outside the house and once again shower is the wrong word, bucket is more like it. Oh and I forgot something…we have no running water which means we have to fetch our water from the well which is out the back yard and down the street.
We have a translator who owns a cow and that is how we get our milk. The cherries are in season right now so we have been cherry picking and let me just say the cherries are so good. It is going to be a good month of roughing it that is for sure. Praise God that we do however have electricity!
Our ministry is going to consist of working with youth, playing soccer with the village children, maybe teaching some English, doing some work for people who are in need in the village and mainly just build relationships.
Love
Jaime
