We were asked to do a prayer walk around the village we live in one day last week. A prayer walk is just that, we walk around the village listening for the Spirit to speak and pray for God to move.
We went off in pairs I was with Emily. We start walking left, we walk and pray, walk and pray. We end up at this bridge that is crossing a little river that runs through the village. Emily says thats funny, God told me to go to the bridge and there we were. We covered that bridge in prayer and continued. We came to the main road and as we were walking down I hear God say blue roof. I thought God, I have not seen a blue roof at all, I dont know what you are talking about and kept walking. I then start thinking about our contacts home. You see they are the only house in the village that has a yellow roof. As I was thinking about this yellow roof God gave me an image of a lighthouse. The Blessings home is like a light house keeping the village lit and out of the dark. Just like a lighthouse helps light a path for a ship the Blessings home does the same for the people of the village. We walked around the village and came back the way we started. As we were walking we came to a statue of Mary and what would you know it had a blue roof over it. I was telling Emily about what I had heard God say earlier and she told me when we walked past it the first time she felt like we needed to pray over the statue so we did just that.
