God has been teaching me so much over the past 7 months. He has given me a heart for people who feel hopeless and who are at rock bottom. God has given me a vision into my future. I would love to share this with you. I am so excited about what God has instore for me over the next year.
Some of my favorite ministry has been working with people who are at rock bottom and who feel like they don’t have any hope or joy in life. I loved working with the prostitutes in Rwanda, the young boys at the jail in the Philippines and getting to have devine encounters with alcholics along the way. God has told me there is a reason for these being my favorite. The reason being, these are the people God wants me to work with in the future. God has made it known to me that I am a healer, that when someone is at rock bottom I am able to heal them and bring them back up.
Let me get more specific. The prostitutes that I worked with in Rwanda have been on my heart ever since I have left back in October. God told me while I was in Rwanda that I was home and I didn’t know why. It was in the Philippines that God revealed a little more of His plan to me. God wants me in Rwanda to work with the prostitutes. He wants me to love on them and give them a chance to see how mighty our God is.
He even took it a little bit further and said that I should open up a recovery home for them. A place where they could live and learn new skills such as sewing and jewlery making to give them an alternative to their preveous profession. You see there were several young women who accepted Jesus into their heart while I was there. This is amazing, except that they are stuck in the same environment. A place where it is extremely easy to get pulled back into their old ways.
My vision gives these beautiful, amazing young women a way out, a place to live that would stimulate growth in their walk with Jesus. Invision this with me. A warm house over flowing with women who are broken, battered but on the way to recovery, who are filled with hope, love and the presence of Jesus. A group of women defined by who they are in Christ not who their past says they were. A group of women living in love and light not in bondage and death.
I feel like God wants me to go back this July a few days after returning home from the race. I plan to go back for a few weeks in order to network and further explore the vision that God has placed on my heart.
