“Show me your ways, O Lord, Teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalms 25:4-5 God told me that He wants me in Asia just as much as He does Africa. I knew that God loved the people in Asia too but it just never fully clicked in me. God has been changing my heart for these people here. It has been amazing to see God work in me. When I first got here I didn’t want to talk to anyone…I just didn’t really care, I didn’t want to be here in Asia. In the last 2 and a half weeks God has given me a love for these people. God has allowed me to see the people through His eyes. God has revealed to me just how much He loves the people here. I see this so much in the children here at the orphanage. One day a week or so ago our contact Ellie came over to the compound and found me. She said that she had just been delivering clothes to one of the poorer sections of town. She continued to tell me about this boy who was around 8 years old who had sliced his foot open and it looked pretty bad. Ellie asked me if I would come with her to take a look at it. Of course I was thrilled to death beacuase I love anything medical. I told her that I would love to take a look at it. So off we went we drove and drove and drove. It was a good ways away from our compound. We finally arived and I wish that you could have seen this place. It was not in good condition at all. the property was right across the street from the landfill and many of the people living there would scavenge the landfill. We walked up to this little shack and the boy was sitting there on a bench waiting for me. His foot was in pretty bad shape, he had sliced it open by stepping on a glass bottle. It was about 2 inches long and there was tissue hanging out. Ellie had brought some supplies such as hydrogen peroxide, gauze and neosporin so I used what we had to clean it out the best that I could. Once it was as clean as it was going to get I put some neosporin on it some gauze and wrapped it in an ace bandage. I taught the mother of the boy how to do this. Suprisingly when we returned a few days later she had done what we told her to do and the boys foot is healing nicely ๐ This trip did my heart good. I got to do something that I loved and I got to help a little boy who otherwise would have gotten a really bad infectioin. These people literally had nothing and to see how much love they had to give was awesome!! I was so honored to be there and to love on them and to show them that there are people who care about them ๐ My time here in Malaybalay is winding down and I am kind of sad because I have grown to kind of like it here HaHa. The children here have so much love to give. One little boy his name is Eric John and everytime he sees you he runs up to you and gives you one of the best hugs you will ever have in your life. It is funny how attached you get to people in just a couple of weeks. I still need about $3000 to be fully funded. God has so much left to teach me…He is transforming my life out here on the field. I am fully confident that all the money will come in because out God is the all mighty all powerful God! God does not start a work in us that He does not finish ๐ Jaime
