Welcome to the Philippines!!! Originally I was suppose to be in Thailand right now but due to the flooding we had to be re-routed to the Philippines ๐ I want to tell you a little bit about our mini debrief that we had before leaving Africa and about the travel days that it took us to get here. On October 30th we took a bus for about 10 hours from Rwanda to Entebbe,Uganda for a mini debrief for 3 days. During our debrief we had a Halloween party in which I was the easy button from the staples commercial. We also got new teams, I will write a blog all about that later. We left Africa on November 2nd and took a bus to Entebbe Airprt where we got to spend 6 hours waiting to board our plane. We flew from Entebbe, Uganda to Doha, Qutar which was about a 5 hour flight. When we landed we had about a half hour layover until we could get on our flight to Bangkok, Thailand. This flight took about 7 hours. Since we had to be re-routed to the Philippines we had a 24 hour layover in the Bangkok airport woot woot!! I have never had to spend the night in an airport before so I thought it was a lot of fun HaHa!! When it was time for bed we all pulled out our sleeping mats found us a place on the floor and went to sleep ๐ The next morning we woke up and headed to check in for our flight to the Philippines. I was almost to the counter when one of the team leaders made me get out of line with all my stuff. Come to find out that there are about 8 people from my squad that only had inbound tickets and not outbound tickets for the Philippines. This meant that we were stuck in the Bangkok airport until we had outbound tickets becuase the Philippines wanted to make sure that we were actually leaving their country. Our squad leaders immediatley got on the phones to AIM headquarters back in the states to get this figured out. The plane we were suppose to be on started boarding at 11AM and it was 11:08 when we started working on this issue. Thankfully God had it under control and within about 30 minutes we had our outbound tickets and we were able to get through. We thought we were late because it was now around 11:40AM so we were running to the gate so we would not get left behind. When we arrived we found out that the plane was running late and boarding had not even started yet. PRAISE THE LORD!!! This flight was about 3 hours I think. Stepping off the plane it was so so so hot and humid let me tell you you can just be sitting here and be sweating like crazy. we then hopped on a bus for another 2 hours to get to the compound we are staying at. That is a grand total of about 51 hours of travel!!!! Love You Guys!!
Soon to come a blog introducing my new team ๐
love Jaime
