I want to apologize for not keeping my blog up to date. We don’t have the best internet access. I hope that my blogs will get more frequent because my team did invest in a modem that runs off cell phone service that works at the house we are staying at.
I am now about 2 weeks into the race and I am loving it! I have made so many new friends here and will be so sad to leave them at the end of the month. Our hosts house is in the middle of what I would call a little village. I have met many of the people in this village including a ton of children. One of the little girls has taken quite a liking to me and I have to say that she holds a special place in my heart. Her name is Eunice and she is around 4 years old. Every time I see her she just runs up to me with a huge smile. I have made friends with a bunch of the mothers of these children as well. Some of their names are Prisca, Josaphine, Cipros, Ragina, and Latisia. All of these mothers have given their life to Jesus. It has been awesome just to talk to them and being able to lift them up and encourage them.
After about a week of resting and getting to know our surroundings our first ministry task was speaking at the church. There were 4 roles to be filled. One to give the main message, one to talk to the adult bible class and 2 people to lead the children’s sunday school class. I volunteered to speak at the adults bible class. I had to speak for about 40 minutes. I spoke about JOY and tied this into my testimony. I am not sure how long I talked for I can almost guarantee that it wasn’t for 40 minutes haha!
God has been showing up in amazing ways!! On the first day of door to door I was with Elaina and two church members Janet and Paul. We came to our first house and there was a lady in the front yard doing laundry and she excitedly welcomed us into her home. We found out that she was a believer so we were able to swap stories and giver her some encouragement. At the end of our time we asked Jaquline how we could pray for her and she said that her daughter Marion has been suffering from stomach problems so we prayed healing over her daughter. When we opened our eyes there were many children at the door haha! We shared with them the story of Noah and the Ark. We asked the children if they needed some prayer and there were two children who stepped forward. One was a little girl named Naomi who was suffering from arm pain that was caused from a broken arm that didn’t heal properly. There was also a little boy named Tyson who stepped forward and he was suffering from a tooth ache. We were able to pray over each of these children for God to heal them. The next day Pastor wanted us to visit some members of the church and what do you know one of the lady’s lived in the same neighborhood we were in the day before. We were able to check in with Jaquline and the two children we had prayed for and praise the Lord Marion, Naomi and Tyson had been HEALED in the name of JESUS!
I am so excited to see what else God has in store for the rest of this month as well as the next 10 months!!
I would like to update you on how I am doing Financially. I have $10,888 in my support account so about $3,200 is still needed for me to be fully funded. I ask that you would please pray about supporting me. God is using me in great ways and I am already growing so much spiritually. Thank you so much for continuing to read my blog and for supporting me in finances and in prayer.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for God to place people in our paths that are ready to receive the gospel.
2. Pray that God will fill me and my team with the Spirit and that our words would not be heard but it would be all Gods.
3. Pray that God will allow us to see the people here as He sees them. Also that we would see our team members in that way.
4. Please pray that God would provide the rest of the support that I need to be able to stay the full 11 months.
