Here is a great blog from my sqaudmate Megan Osowski which explains my thoughts exactly:

A couple weeks ago, our whole squad met together for something we all had been anticipating. The rumors were raging, but once all 8 teams arrived in Phuket, Thailand, the beans were spilled about … TEAM CHANGES!! I was actually very excited about switching teams. It had nothing to do with my old team, and had everything to do with my love for switching things up.

Melina, my squad leader, and I had a really good conversation that gave me a new perspective about team changes. Here is my paraphrase of the wisdom she shared with me:

Right now, you are close with only a few members of F-squad. You know your teammates and maybe a few people you got close to during travel days, debriefs, Launch, and Training Camp. Your teams feel like little families, because you know everything from the nitty gritty junk in their lives to who sings in the shower (if they take one). Overall, you have the people you are close to and then a bunch of squad mates you don’t know that well. When teams get switched up, the people you got close to on your team are still your family even if you don’t see them every day any more. Before you know it, the people on your new team will begin to feel like family as well. With every team change, your family grows as you become close to new brothers and sisters on the squad. Soon, the squad isn’t made up of 8 little families, but transforms into one giant family! Then, your whole squad will be TIGHT!

So without further adieu, meet team <3 Greater Love:

You can read and follow my teammates blogs if you click on their pictures on the bottom left side of this page. They are much better at blogging and pictures than I am:)

We were told to make a memory on our first day together as a team so we rented mopeds…

And took a boat ride….

To this incredible place….
