You may have noticed I haven’t posted in a while.  A lot has been happening in my life.  Big things are coming.  Erin and I are anticipating a change of scenery and of work at the end of this year.  We continue to pray through exactly how that will look and what it will be.  It’s exciting, but it’s not easy to discern.

When I got back from the Race my dad said he thought I should “work on my writing” or something to that effect.  He was saying he thought I wrote well.  I was flattered, but I wasn’t sure exactly what to do.  Now I realize what you do is, well, write.

I started a new blog to go with a new season of life a while back.  I talked about it on here and let you guys know you could be following me at the new site.  Then I got married, went on a honeymoon, and got caught up in the excitement of my new life.

After I hadn’t written for a long time, I tried to think of why I wanted to write at all.  Sometimes I wonder if my own enjoyment in hearing myself talk transfers to writing, where maybe I just enjoy seeing my own thoughts typed out.  Then I remember that when I write, I end up in conversations about things I care about.  People say that what I share affects them.  They like to be a part of those conversations too.  Then I remember that sometimes you need to “just write”, it doesn’t matter about what, to get the ball rolling and get some momentum.  I find that when I’m writing often and well I end up gaining greater revelation on stuff that matters to me.
So I started a 30-day blogging challenge on my other blog, where I’m hoping you’ll all join me.  I even waited about a week to make sure I was sticking with it before I talked about it here.  I’ve finished the first 8 posts, and tonight I’ll put up the 9th.  I’m getting prompts from another Web site, taking the approach that I don’t even need to worry about what I’ll write about, I just need to write.  It’s been fun.

I hope you’ll join me at www.JacobHoyer.com.  That’s where you’ll be able to follow me over the coming months and years.  I would love if you would jump over there and use the field on the right side of the page to subscribe.  Then you’ll get an email every time I write a new post.

Catch up with the stuff I’ve been working on over the last week.  Then we’ll see where we can go together.
