Hello all!  I have returned from Cambodia.  It was a whirlwind of a trip.  I flew about 16 hours from Atlanta to Seoul, South Korea.  I flew about five hours from Seoul to Siem Reap, Cambodia where I spent four full days with the O-squad — the group I spent this Summer leading through their first four months on the World Race.

The first two days we spent sitting down with teams.  We heard about ministry and team dynamics.  We spoke into what we believe the Lord is saying for them.  We spent the next two days doing back-to-back one-on-one meetings.  I would sit with folks for an hour each.  We would talk about how their life on the Race is going.  We ended up talking a lot about what they thought they would do after the Race.

We do four “debriefs” throughout the course of an 11-month World Race.  This was the 8th month debrief for O-squad.  It’s the debrief when we talk about what they can expect from re-entry spiritually and emotionally.  We also talk about some specific options they have waiting for them after the 11 months of the World Race are over.

This can be an exciting time for a lot of folks.  It can also be a very anxious time.

One thing I tried to convey to people across the board: This is the time to begin to count the cost of living a Kingdom mindset for the rest of your life.  8 months into the Race, a lot of people are feeling more free and more whole than they have ever before.  The temptation is to believe that’s the point.  To sit in safety.  The challenge is to remember that we have been reconciled to the Lord that we might go out to reconcile the world.  We need to carry the banner of peace and wholeness to a world mired in the hopelessness of brokenness.  And it may require us to give up our lives.

The O-squad is answering the challenge.

This from Ashely Rose:
So  where do I go from here? Who the heck knows. But I know that God is
worth the risk. God is worth me giving up a bed and worth me eating rice
and beans everyday and worth me smelling like a dead skunk and
scratching dirt off myself and worth me getting Malaria and whatever
other diseases and parasites are all up in my grill. He’s worth it. Do
you think He’s worth it?  Will you come with me? Will you continue to
partner with me? Will you make sacrafices and be radical? Will you
answer God when He calls you?

Cambodia was great.  Thank you for your prayers.  Your spiritual, emotional, and financial support are changing lives.
