Before I came home I was pretty sure that my summer was going to be packed lots of fun time preparing for the World Race.  While there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think about that impending adventure, I’m finding that I’m getting much more settled at home than I thought I would.

It has been nice to be able to attend my home church of Holy Cross every Sunday and see so many of the faces with whom I grew up and to spend some time at home getting to know my parents again, who seem to be such different people since they have now had all of their children out of the house for a few years — and since they have switched to a completely vegetarian diet.

Returning home has been a return to comfort but in such a new way as to be very exciting.  I knew that the 3-4 months I spent back in Lake Mary would be a great season of preparation leading into the World Race, but I never imagined it would feel quite like it has.  I love that God always seems to work in the ways we least expect, but still in the ways we most need.

This is my first update in a while and I apologize for the layoff, but truly I have felt very comfortable lately and I hope that this post has given you a bit of a glimpse at where I currently stand in preparing for the Race.
