Stephen was young, but filled by the Spirit. Stephen didn’t allow his youth to stop him. He walked in boldness and used the authority given to him. Nothing could stop Stephen. He saw himself through the eyes of the Father and his faith was strong. His life was lead by the Spirit. He never questioned why the Lord had chosen him. He embraced it. We need to embrace it. We need to embrace the fact that God has called us. He has chosen us. He created us and he knows what we are capable of doing. We can’t allow fear to hold us back. We need to be lead by the love Christ has for us.
In his youth, Stephen did a lot. He embraced who he was called to be. He didn’t run away. He ran toward the truth of who God had called him to be. He was bold and never shied away. Stephen didn’t allow the religious leaders intimidate him. He was strong in his faith and fully trusted the Lord. I want to walk like Stephen and be bold like he was. He feared nothing, not even death, because he was confident in who he was.
I love that Stephen was young, because I am young and being young has nothing to do with where you are in your walk. Stephen is proof that you can be young, filled by the Spirit, and be used by God. I want to be Spirit filled like Stephen. I want to be filled with wisdom and speak truth. I want to be able to discern what is truth and what isn’t. I want to call out false doctrine and only let truth spread.
Holy Spirit come and wash yourself over me. Baptize me Lord. FILL ME!
I want to be bold, courageous, brave, strong, on fire for my King. Stephen spoke truth to the masses. I want to be bold like Stephen and speak the truth of who Jesus is to the masses. Stephen was a warrior on fire for the Lord. I want to be God’s warrior princess on fire for him. Nothing holding me back.
I want to be wrecked by you, Lord, and be completely surrendered to you. Stephen radiated you and they all knew it. Lord, I want the world to see you radiating off your daughter. Lord, Stephen was and continues to be an example. Papa, teach me how to be that example and speak your truth. To walk in boldness and not hold back. To speak when the spirit prompts me to. I don’t want to hold back. I want to walk in freedom.
Yea, there is a moment where we get to see Stephen speaking in the spirit and as God’s children we can look forward to that, as long as we allow him to use us in that way.
