Disclaimer: This blog/thank you letter is intended for G Squad's Team Spirit Reign, Team Rise Up&Soar + Squad Leader Michael. It's the first time on my race when we got to crash into or overlap with teams on another squad on a ministry site and that's what happened to us on our first day and a half of this month in Changlun, Malaysia.

Dear G Squad,

I just want to give God the glory for what happened two nights ago, as we stayed up until 4am in what turned out to be a night that left me speechless and with wonderfully indescribable feelings.

You men and women of G squad, I'm still in awe of you!

You prophesied over us and imparted so many gifts to us that night. Someone spoke in tongues for the first time! Everybody that were there from L squad (about 9 total) got something as if it's Christmas Day!

It's very much like in Acts chapter 20, the night before Paul was to leave Troas and everybody stayed up late to be together one last time. Here we were, instead of a Paul figure preaching and a Eutychus figure sleeping and falling out the window, we have G squad, you guys on the night before you are leaving, opening up a pile of Holy Spirit fireworks and it turning into a kind of party I'll never forget I attended.

It gave me chills even now as I write, to know that there's the kind of love God gave you guys for us.

Michael, your squad leader had heard that L squad teams were going to be here this week and overlap with us for about a day, so you traveled cross country to come here just for us as you heard God say: "Go! I have something for you to do there with L Squad." So you showed up a day or so before we arrived, rallied both our people together around midnight on Monday night. You didn't let it being late be an excuse to stop you, but somehow we all met in the "upper room", among your teams' sleeping mats and sleeping bags.

That night, Truth were spoken, lies were broken, faith was strengthened. Some saw visions, others were given words of envouragement and overcame strongholds. We cried some, then laughed a bunch. You joked about me reminding you of someone on your squad also Asian from San Francisco (Hey Christina! Bayarea pride!) that's a powerhouse.

It was no ordinary night. The air was thick with His presence. Each of your faces, new to us yet so familiar, like faces we've known for a long time. Kind words, old friends, you are people we can trust with our deep dark secrets upon meeting for the first time. You remind me of a traveling IHOP (not the pancake place), a walking prayer room, God's church, as the way Jesus intended for church to be – different members coming together in prayer and unity and getting every gift available from the Holy Spirit, a free for all.

Well done G Squad. Well done. God be with you on your month 8 debrief and in Cambodia (the country I'm most looking forward to on the race)!

God willing we will cross paths again in another country sometime in the near future!

Lord, thank you for the best night on the race yet.
