Welcome to my World Race Blog

I will run this race. September 2102- August 2013. Jackie Gu, World Racer.

Excuse me while I write this blog on the road.

This month, I’m writing from Mozambique.

It’s literally been a whirlwind of events happening in my life that could’ve resulted in confusion, but because of a person called Jesus, it’s been about peace and clarity. In the last year and some months, I’ve transitioned from a Marketing Communications Manager working her corporate 9 to 5 to a free spirited woman who went on a 11 countries-in-11-months adventure in doing missions work around the world.

Whether you know me in real life, found me accidentally (trust me, there’s no such thing as accidental), or was referred here, please look around and stay a while. You may find a hidden gem that’s worth a read.

First, learn a bit about who I am, and why I went on the World Race.

Oh, and if you are a 30-something like me and considering the race. Read this.

I pray that by reading this blog and many other blogs from fellow Racers like me, your world may be changed, your vision may be broadened, and your hope may be renewed. Our God is a big God and I hope to use this opportunity to discover just how big He is, and share my discoveries with you.

“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”  – Psalm 37:4

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Cor 10:31

Finally I leave you with my theme song for this race, by a beautiful worshipper named Kristene Mueller.

“I will run, I will run this race,
And I will do it all for love.
Your love compels me forward,
Your love controls my heart,
And I just can’t, I cannot get away.

So I will fight this good fight of faith,
And I will do it all for love.
You are my great reward,
You’re so worth fighting for
And I can’t wait to see Your face.”
