Hello web.

I would like to start my 2nd ever blog post by apologizing for massive gap between this post and my last. Things have been pretty busy for me lately but everyone is busy so that is not much of an excuse. I promise to post blogs much more frequently within this next month and while I am out on the field.

Just a quick reminder to those who may have forgotten – I am no incredible author, so please don’t expect a novel. I would prefer if these blogs were more like a conversation.

So I am going to talk about training camp now.

Training camp was awesome. 10 days under the hot Georgia sun with 100% humidity and all of the people I get to travel the world with. It was very surreal realizing that the people I have been Facebook friends with for months actually exist and are actually pretty dang cool too. It was super easy to build deep relationships with my squadmates because 1) every relationship was unconditionallay rooted in Jesus Christ and 2) I realized that I am going to get to know these people incredibly well within the next 9 months and beyond, so there was no reason for me to hold back from them. I would much rather go into a foreign country with people I know I can trust and count on as opposed to a bunch of nervous strangers. And what is a better way to get to know people than eating weird food, being thrown into hilarious travel scenarios, and worshipping the Lord together? That is was the bulk of training camp consisted of. After a large number of team building activities, our squad leaders (whom I am very thankful for because of the time they spent pouring into us and their incredibly patience) divided us into teams — the teams that we will be spending the next 9 months with. My team consists of myself and 5 allstars that love and care for one another in such a humbling and beautiful way. The Lord is equipping us for our journey in which we get the opportunity to glorify Him. God is continuing to show me things that I need to let go of in order to complete His work. The devil thrives in a realm of darkness and when things are brought to light he has no hold on them. I am so excited. Launch is on the 5th of September. That is less than a month away. I will say it again. I am so excited.

Until the next time I get on the Internet.
