So the first month is in the books. We worked with a couple named, Karl and Julie Bannert. They are from Texas and are great! They run a summer camp that spreads the gospel and Christian morals to the kids of south Serbia.
While we were there we did a range of things: we moved them into their new apartment, prayer walking/biking, and a whole bunch of construction/demolition. We knocked plaster off of the wall, broke out some concrete stairs, mixed and poured a lot of concrete, made a bathroom.
When we did construction we would not leave the camp, so it was difficult to understand that I was actually in Serbia. But we did a chance to go out and meet some locals. One of our best friends that we met was Marko. He is a dancer from the next town over called Krogovo. After we met him Marko invited us to come to his dance practice. So of course we did! We ended up going back 3 times and it was one of my favorite parts about being in Serbia. We learned how to do some traditional Serbian dances!
This month we were very blessed in so many ways. We had running water, food, a bed, Wi-Fi, and electricity.
The schedule for Serbia was all over the place so God was teaching me about how I just need to trust in him and give away the need to know all the details of what we were doing. Also we were told that we were going to be running a summer camp, but when we got there we found out that school has started so their would not be any kids their. But it was what I needed because I had all of these expectations for this trip and now I am trying to get rid of all of the expectations. I am however trying to adapt an expectation that God is going to do incredible things and that he is going to place me exactly where he wants me.
Thanks for all of the prayers
