We're sorry that there's been radio silence on our blog lately … Allow us to update you on all the things have kept us insanely busy during our last weeks before launching onto the World Race!
We officially have 18 days until we leave!!
In the last few weeks, we have been …
Testing out gear and spending hours at REI …

Moving out of our home sweet home …

Packing for training camp and the World Race …

(Yes, it's true. My backpack is bigger than I am!
Confession: I packed too much stuff.
Good thing I learned what I DON'T need on the race at training camp!)
Having a BLAST and learning a TON at Training Camp
(July 2-10, 2011)

Camp was close to the border of these two states, so we ran to the state line and back. The first in a long line of seeing new places!

We loved meeting our squad and hanging out with our new team – meet them here!

Appreciating and savoring all that is good about life here at home
… like being a Texan(!) …

… and good coffee …

… and soaking up the last moments with family/friends
… (like our precious neices & nephews!)

Lastly, we have spent a lot of time praying, sharing our story, and checking off a growing to-do list.

Jack and I praying Jack preaching in a Kenyan slum in 2007. He
shortly after our wedding. hopes to be able to do this more soon!
Would you pray with us as we make final preparations?
– to leave everything familiar behind …
– to jump off the edge …
– to rely on God's provision …
– and to follow Jesus to the ends of the earth?
