As I was waking up at the buttcrack of dawn this morning to put on a garage sale I had a blast from the past and God chose to speak to me through it.

I remember when I was in about 4th grade my brother and I really needed money. Really bad. I mean…we were desperate. You see….

we needed one more pack of pokemon cards to complete our 4 inch binder of pokemon cards collection.

We put our beautifully intelligent minds together and came up with a flawless plan.

Pick berries off our tree in the back yard, put them in a napkin, and go to our neighbors asking if they want to buy some organic berries that were so so delicious.

(they tasted horrible. They could have been nightlock for all we know)

Spoiler alert: We didn’t sell any.

But I do remember completing our collection anyways. Gotta catch em all ya know?

FLASH FORWARD

I was in about 8th or 9th grade and my neighbor and I decided to have a lemonade stand on the hottest day in human history one summer.

We literally had a TV tray, some lemonade, and posted ourselves by a stopsign in our neighborhood.

We ended up drinking the lemonade ourselves and not selling any.

I’m not even sure why we did that to be honest..

But as I was getting ready this morning those two stories came to my mind and my first thought was…well…I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if today goes about the same way those events went.

See…I really love my team mates. I really love my squad mates. And I can’t just sit around and wait for their facebook updates of where they are fundraising.

I know my garage sale efforts are a little far fetched. I know Kevin Durant will probably not come tomorrow and donate $17,000 to our squad to get us to launch. I know that I probably won’t make the $7,211 our team needs to launch. But I’m going to give it all I’ve got.

“Work like it depends on you. Trust like it depends on God”
“Try your best and leave the results up to God”

I really am trying my best. And it may look like berries in a napkin or a hot lemonade stand, but the great thing is that God can and will work through anything. He see’s our heart. He hears our prayers. He knows our deepest desires. And I believe %100 that he will provide the funds for ALL of my squad mates. BY TUESDAY!

I’ve also realized that God is using this time of not having everyone funded to bring our squad together spiritually and to unite us in a bond so strong before we even start the race. All day today we’ve had a fasting and prayer day. We have been posting prayer requests, encouragements, and words for each other. We have called, texted, snap chatted, ect.. all trusting that God has it under control.

He is definitely training his army right now.

We are growing stronger.

We are growing closer.

We are loving deeper.

We are growing in faith.

And all this before launch.

Even though it’s a stressful and difficult time right now, God is with us. He is for us. None can stop us. And we will praise him no matter what comes our way.

If you’d like to be a part of empowering our group and sending us all together as an army into the world, please please consider sponsoring one of the people listed below. I could write pages about each one of them and how much they mean to me already. All of our donations online have to be sent by June 17th. They need to be funded at $7,500 by then. Please consider donating one time or becoming a monthly sponsor for them.
