The world race…
I have always wanted to travel and see the world, but i never wanted to do in the way most people do, i had always invisioned myself going to countries and being apart of the culture, not just site see.
I had never even heard of the world race before, until one day i was in Bethel churches book store on a VERY busy day and i was in line for about a half hour. I started talking with this girl (i wish i could rememer her name) and we talked about where she was from (canada) and why she was in redding ca, (for jesus culture) and she told me she ran into a girl that was on her squad in the world race and I asked what is the world race..She then told me of this mission trip where you go to 11 countries in 11 months and how amazing it was..
I left Bethel and thought about it for a little but went about my day as usual.
It wasn't until a few weeks later when i had done the same old thing i did every week, work, school, study, work, school, study..and i just was fed up with it, i never enjoyed having the same thing happen to me day after day. So as i was driving home i told God i wanted to see the world and be apart of it and help people that really needed it. As soon as i got home i went online and looked up the world race, i was amazing at all the amazing places you could go and help and be apart of their communities!
I felt God's presence on me so strongly as i looked through the pages and the blogs and what it was all about. And when you are on the home page right in front of me it said "There is more to life than empty traditions, routines and working 9-5.."
So without another thought i picked my route and applied!! the next day i told my parents about it, how i would get to teach children english and help villages build churches or schools, How i would get to befrield prostitues and show them how greatly they are loved!
I had some concerns and fears about the fundraising and everything that had to be done but God has made the path clear, he has taken care of every single worry i have had so far!! I know he will be there every step of this new journey.
Phillipines, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Cambodia, Ukraine, Romania, Nepal and India. I cant wait to share the love of jesus with the people of these countries and build ever lasting friendships with them! I watch videos of other racers and read their blogs and i am overwhelmed with excitment that i can barely contain! Yes i am scared to death but, I know God is going to do amazing things within me and to these countries in the coming year!
