Month 5 – Ecuador with my new team, doing well, i plan to blog about my new team and ministry soon…

Yet for mothers day… i find my thoughts going out to family, church and home…I am grateful to have your prayers and support and want you to know your very special to me. (Happy Mothers Day Mom:)

There is a saying that rings true…”you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”

For me this moment happened about a week before i was accepted to the worldrace, my uncle Javier died in a traffic accident.

He holds a very special place in my heart as we were able to talk freely and share trips to the Grand Canyon,Hawaii, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Custards Last Stand, and all you can eat buffets…

Though the Lord gave me reassurance that he knew Jesus personally, thus i will see him in heaven.

There are times I can’t help but to be human and selfishly want to have him back…or at least tell him about the trip i’m taking (he never knew i was applying for the worldrace).

In the worldrace I’m learning that i don’t understand the why’s in life…yet in all things i’m coming to have faith that God is still sovereign even when i don’t understand.

The neat thing about my uncle’s passing is to see my family and Lifepoint church bond together, to do a short mission trip to build a loft house in mexico.(through hands of mercy – http://handsofmercy.com/lofthouse/)

I think the best way to honor those we miss is to come together, seek support and help others.

So you see even though i’m away from home, I am blessed to see family and Church friends step out and to help others. I am coming to have faith that even the tough times God will use for good. (Romans 8:28)

Below is a short video my sister made of the pre-build (they assemble the panels at a church for the prebuild and then in a week or two go to mexico and build the loft house)
