I know it’s been a long time since I’ve shared what’s happening on the field. This will be a recap of our month in Malawi. So, it was super awesome and super hard all at the same time. Our team and another team lived in the same house with our host. The house had a dirt floor and the running water only worked for about an hour every day. Everyday the seven members of my team left our home and traveled for an hour and a half one-way on mini-buses, to reach our ministry point. Just to give you an idea of what a mini-bus is imagine sitting four people all sitting next to each other, in four rows, in a van that was designed to seat twelve. On a regular day we were only able to do ministry for about two hours, which is not a lot when you consider the amount of time spent in travel. That begs the question ‘was it worth it?’ The answer is YES! In the two to four hours of ministry we did a day, God moved, and lives were transformed. We saw so many people come to know Jesus as their personal savior too. There was one time that I can recall when we went out to do door to door ministry where God revealed himself in a very powerful way. It was the first house we went to and I had been selected to share to gospel with the people there, if they would listen. Little did we realize the community we were in was a Muslim community. After introducing ourselves and letting the people know why we were there, they invited us in and asked us to wait while they gathered the servants. Yes, I said servants. The house was very extravagant but, the family was out of town, so only the staff was there. The staff made up a total of seven people ranging from eight years old all the way to early sixties. The whole staff claimed to follow Islam. My heart pounded out of my chest as God led me in sharing the simple truth of His Son and the love He poured out for us. At the end I asked the simple question “do you want Jesus to be part of your life?” Without hesitation everyone of them said YES! That day seven people pronounced that Jesus was the Son of God and accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. If nothing else amazing happened the rest of the race, that was worth it. The thing is, that was not the beginning or the end of the endless grace God has poured out across the world since being on the race. He is so big! All He needs is the obedience of the church to change the world.
