This poem started as a prayer:

Lord, I want to feel moved,

By what you see.

By your people,

By your creation, right in front of me.

Lord, I want to walk humbly,

By your side.

Steadfast and strong,

Without my pride.

Lord, I want to be a light,

That all will see.

A light that burns deep,

And burns bright for thee.

Lord, I want to be a warrior,

In prayer and in praise.

Armed by scripture,

To the last of my days.

Lord, I want to be brave,

Bold and unashamed.

Live my life by faith,

For the glory of your name.

And Lord, these are more than just promises,

More than just words or thoughts.

They’re written on my heart,

A heart that’s already been bought.
