So apparently I'm encouraged to divulge 50 facts about myself right here for my World Racer familia…
You Asked For It
- My favorite color is purple. Yet I have a lot of pink in my wardrobe.
- But blue eyes are my favorite. Aqua blue.
- I'm the eldest of two; this fact makes me forever Big Sister even if Little Brother is 6' and I'm 5'4.
- I'm naturally suspicious so I won't give you any facts that you might use against me or purposely annoy me with.
- In spite of fact #4 I'm incredibly fun-loving and love a good prank.
- I love to cook. I love cooking from scratch. I love to feed people what I cook and take great pleasure in their enjoyment.
- I am a morning person. (Once you see my tent zipped up, please do not disturb. zzz…)
- My favorite food is cheese, but I am lactose-intolerant.
- My bark is always worse than my bite.
- I speaketh old school…as in I like to get it on like Donkey Kong. Dang straight, skippy!
- I used to go to Chinese school every Saturday morning for about 3 years. No, I'm not Chinese.
- I play violin, viola and percussion.
- I love to sing…in the shower, in the rain, in the pews, by the campfire, with a mariachi.
- I am a Mexican folklorico dancer. And I am seriously praying about bringing my zapatillas and big yellow skirt to dance for the kids.
- If I seem fearless, you're actually witnessing me being clueless. I have no idea, therefore, I have no fear.
- I love nice people. I am a people person.
- Sometimes I rock a cowgirl hat.
- I love cowgirl boots and wear them well.
- I love being a youth leader.
- I probably indulge in schadenfreude way too much. Not nice. I know.
- I am a word nerd.
- I value knowledge.
- I enjoy a good cup of tea.
- That having been said, I am a teetotaler. I do not drink any alcohol and have strong convictions about it.
- I'm very affectionate. I love to snuggle.
- I can be loud. Sometimes the volume control on my voice is broken.
- I laugh heartily.
- I smirk more than I smile.
- When I do smile, it's mostly with my eyes more than my mouth.
- I feel naked without my glasses on, as if they've become a natural feature.
- I have a very keen sense of smell but a very strong stomach.
- I love studying practical medicine, health sciences and anatomy & physiology.
- I am not college educated, but this has never stopped me from learning.
- I love water. I love to drink it. It's my favorite beverage and I also love to be in it. Swimming or floating. Soaking. Should I ever have children, I'm all for water-birthing!
- I love fishing……….A LOT. I'd rather be fishing…
- I love nature, but I love people more — otherwise, I wouldn't be such a cosmopolitan. It has its advantages.
- I consider myself a highly acculturated Latina and as American as apple pie.
- Speaking Spanish and knowing my heritage is important to me, but I value moreso my identity in Christ.
- I really, really, really love my church: Calvary Chapel Mountain View.
- I was baptized in the ocean. Beach barbecue and a baptism is the best!
- I really prefer lakes and rivers to the ocean.
- I love animals, they are so cute.
- I say "cute" a lot. If it's something cute, I like it.
- I have a soft spot for old people. They are cute. And I cannot stand to see them cry! It makes me cry too.
- Salsa is delicious. It's basically its own food group and the best vitamin.
- I love to eat garlic and onion — I apologize in advance for the days my deodorant and lack of showers will make this more obvious.
- I very much look forward to shopping the local markets wherever we travel in the WR and getting my hands on choice ingredients. I want to score some cacao in Central America…REAL BAD.
- When it comes to snacks, I prefer salty & crispy versus sweets. I will probably crave popcorn or pretzels.
- I've traveled to many countries and have lived abroad, but the worst case of culture shock and home-sickness combined I ever experienced was visiting Louisiana. (At least I learned to eat crawdads.)
- I cannot wait to meet the people God has chosen to assign as my family, ministry partners, living stones and friends for life at training camp for the World Race September 2012 Route 1 journey!
(Sorry if this wasn't as juicy, funny or entertaining as you'd hoped for! Just wait until we meet…mwahaha)
