Salutations!

(I first learned that greeting from reading Charlotte's Web, as a kid.)

My name is Imelda…aka Mel or Meldi.
Homegrown California girl, born and raised in San Jose.
I will be 31 years old when I launch, and I turn 32 years old while on mission.

What I hope to give out there is quite simply love. I will love the untouchables, the invisible, the hopeless, the destitute, the sick, the widowed, the orphaned, the least of these the way that God has loved me. Proclaiming Christ, my friends, looks like this: to love freely.

What I hope to gain while on the World Race is a biblical world view and a better understanding of how Jesus wants to use my life — and then just let Him use me. I anticipate that I won't return as the same woman. I hope to be very much humbled in this process.

I have a heart for evangelism, youth ministry, studying the Word of God, discipleship of young women and missions. It would be a dream come true for me to be a full time urban missionary and serve in ministry local to San Jose and the South Bay Area upon return.

There's not much else to say, but as I always say: I'm just an ordinary woman made of dust chasing an extraordinary God. When it comes down to it, call me a Jesus lovin', Gospel livin', Bible readin', Good News preachin' sinner saved by grace!

Please join me, follow me, support me, pray for me and witness the journey that is my mission on the World Race.

Love changes everything. [John 3:16] That's my tagline and I'm sticking to it!

xoxo,
Missionary Mel
