“With one mind and one voice, you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,” Romans 15: 6. If I had to summarize my experience in Swaziland the past couple of weeks that would be the verse that I use. Swaziland, Africa is such a beautiful place with beautiful people. I had the opportunity to help at a “Care Point.” A Care Point is just a place where kids can go during the day and they will feed them a large lunch meal. We had a chance to play with them and teach some of the older ones about God. It was such a humbling experience as they played with mud and rocks for fun. I got to connect with a couple of the middle school age boys through soccer which was a lot of fun. Using the fence as a goal, we would play one goalie and the rest would try and score and if you scored you became the goalie. They loved watching me punt the ball as high as possible which is funny cause I’m honestly not that great at soccer. Only speaking a little english, they would give a slim smile and point at the sky for me to punt it. Towards the end I also got a change to switch to another Care Point. Casey and I joined an all girl team to help with labor for the last couple of days. We had to dig a trench around the playground and fill it with tires. When we weren’t spending time at the care points, our free time consisted of good fellowship and time with God. My guitar has also became a close friend of mine, allowing me to escape and feel at peace. I have made such a strong connection with guys, spending the last week sharing testimonies with each other and encouraging one another as well. I loved Swaziland so much and it will also have a place in my heart. The kids gave me a name in their native language which was “Thando,” which means love. It was an emotional roller coaster of touch times and amazing times as well. I got a lot of chances to lead times of worship for our squad which always ended up being so refilling for my spirit. It’s also cool to be able to go to the bible for the same refilling of the spirit. Reading the bible on a daily bases becomes easy when you wake up in the morning and 30 people have already started. Being around a group of people my age that are so on fire for God has been an energizing experience so far. Everyone pushing the next person to live out their lives for Christ even more. An atmosphere that allows the spirit to move in ways unimaginable before I had left for this trip. If anyone was wondering, I’m actually first in the race at this point. I think I might win. Thanks for the prayers and support. Love you all so much.
