Slovakia

I love Nove Zampky!!!

The month of October was Ask The Lord: ATL month. We prayed and asked God to show us where He wanted us to go and what He wanted us to do for ministry. We could choose from Croatia, Bosnia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Slovakia. I didn’t even know Slovakia was a country until they told us the countries we could go to. But God knew Slovakia was exactly where He wanted us.

Drew and Erin attend Life Church back home and when Drew was watching a sermon Pastor Milan Skyped into the service. Drew contacted Milan and next thing we knew we were in a van to Nove Zampky, Slovakia! It was totally a God thing!

Milan is the pastor of Kompas Church. He has a beautiful wife named Judy and his children are Terezka, Becky, Rueben, and Ester. All the leaders of the church are young (early 20’s to mid 30’s). Some of the  leaders are Milan, Judy, Viki, Noro, Boris, Valdo, and Zuska…

We taught conversation classes every Thursday and Friday. Every Thursday we also helped with “ACET KLUB” which is a youth meeting where they have discussions about different topics like drugs, parent relationships, and God. Every Friday we went to the youth group meetings. Tuesdays and some Wednesdays we helped at neighboring youth group meetings. Sundays we gave testimonies and helped with children’s ministry. Through out the week we went on “friend dates” with the teens from school. This was the best part of the month… I got close to lots of the teens and still keep in contact with them 🙂

I’ve discovered a new passion to mentor young girls. I want them to find their identity in Christ and not in the things of the world. I want to invest in thier lives so they can mature into the women that God desires them to be. Most of the girls I hung out with were not Christians, but I will never give up on them. I will continue to fight for them in prayer! Several girls that we hung out with asked God into their hearts the last night!!! Praise God!!! All of the teens are, will be forever in my prayers and on my heart! (Here are some of the girls!)
