Right now I
miss home a lot.  What I miss about home
are the people, not the place.  This year
while I was off in a small Ukrainian village, my birthday came and went.  My team and the locals Christians in the
village made sure I celebrated that day and they made me feel very loved.  My idea of celebrating involves less of what
I’m doing and more of who I’m with.  So,
this year was tough without those who are closest to me.  I think missing birthdays and big events is
the hardest part about being away from home.

One thing I
really want to do is say THANK YOU to everyone who sent me emails, facebook
messages, and made videos wishing me well.
I had about 30 minutes on the internet before we left to go out to
another village.  During that time, I
went to McDonald’s and had at least 20 minutes of videos compiled by family of
everyone sending me love.  Wow, thank you
all so much!

Even though I
would like to tell everyone thank you separately, I know there is not enough
internet time all month for me to accomplish that.  So, I’m using the resources I have and doing
the best I can.  (That has been a theme
for the whole year)   Grandma, I know you
love me and I love you, too!  I’m looking
forward so much to Thanksgiving and Christmas this year just because I can be
around my loved ones.  Seven weeks to
go.

Some things I
want to do when I get home:

·
Do a home
pedicure with my Mom

·
Make chocolate
chip cookies and eat them hot with my family

·
Have a party
to see my friends

·
Go have coffee
with someone at Central Market

If you ever
feel like you are not appreciating the important people in your life, try to
imagine yourself without them for an extended period of time.  I can tell you that the idea of being hugged
by people who know how to hug me best is so sweet right now.
