Thank you guys so much for visiting my world race blog. It feels awesome to say that. I cannot believe that God has placed such an amazing opportunity in my life. I can’t wait to see what he is going to do in my life while I prepare for this trip, while I’m out on the field, and how I am changed when I return. My dream in life has always been to travel and see this amazing world and being able to meet and help people who are truly in need of it. Who knew God would allow me to live out this dream, but I guess he said all along in His word, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” –Psalm 37:4
I am from Pendleton, SC. I have lived here in this town my whole life and would not have chosen anywhere else to grow up. I love it here. I am 24 years old. I graduated from North Greenville University with a degree in Intercultural Studies just 2 short years ago. I have been working at my church, Faith Fellowship, for the past six years as the Children’s minister. It is the job of a lifetime and I love what I do. God has blessed me with an incredible life and I wouldn’t be who I am today without people and circumstances God has allowed in my life.
First off, I would not be anywhere without my family. They are my biggest supporters. I love each and everyone of them to the core. I know I can always count on them to be there for me no matter what. It is because of my parents love and devotion for God and for my sister and I that has taught me so much about Jesus and what it truly means to be Christ-like.
My friends and my church family have a HUGE impact on my life. They have been there in my life when I needed them most and have guided me in truth and love. It is with their love and support that I can face this journey, just knowing they are with me each step of the way.
So now you know what makes me who I am, but what are those things…
I love God!! I love new adventures, I love anything outdoors, I love being at the beach, home-cooked food, sweet tea, my precious furbabies, staying up late, sleeping in, movies, road trips, my niece, Reese’s is my go to candy, I like hanging out with my friends, laughing, smiling, singing in my car. I am hard headed, but determined. I hate controversy. I am optimistic. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. I like my alone time. I am a worrier and I overthink way too much. But I believe in living your life with no regrets, letting go of the past, and living each day with happiness because life is too short to settle for anything less.
My life has had its share of twists and turns but I know God has been in control of each one. I am grateful for his divine plan and it is because of that great plan which has lead me to the World Race. God has been teaching me lately this his plans are far better than any plans I had of my own, if only I just trust in him.
