While we were at debrief in Cape Town, we found out that there was a Hillsong Church plant nearby, and a bunch of us wanted to go.

The group of us got together and tried to get an Uber, but it was taking a while, so we walked outside and ran into a taxi driver, with just enough seats for all of us.

I cancelled our incredibly slow uber driver once we found the taxi which was driven by a man named Maxwell.

Maxwell was a really nice, rather quiet man. Some of us tried to make conversation with him, and Kirsten and Evan invited him to church.

He accepted the invitation and even drove us back to the hotel after church.

That’s not the coolest part.

The coolest part was the altar call during the message.

The man speaking gave invitation at the end to rededicate your life to the Lord and ask for hands to be raised and eyes to be closed.

I rebelled a bit, and caught Maxwell raising his hand.

He really enjoyed church with us and we enjoyed it with him.

This was just a great reminder to take advantage of every opportunity. Invite people to church, be present, and engage in conversations. God opens cool doors, even if it looks like an inconvenient change of plans. Make the most of it.
