Proverbs 16:9 The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.

In the summer of 2013, my pastor and his daughter went on a week long missions trip to Haiti where they ran into a group of World Racers. They worked with an organization called Mission of Hope (MOH).

When they came back, they briefly mentioned them and how cool what they were doing was.

Well, I forgot about that.

Over the summer, I was playing the bass at a joint worship service that was held in Dixon, and the pastor that was speaking stopped during his message and said that he felt like the Lord was saying someone in the room had a call to missions and let life happen, but now it was time to go back.

I looked around the room to find, that word from the Lord was for me, which is cool and all, but I was really struggling to accept that.

I wrestled with the idea of doing missions and did not even want to consider what that maybe able to look like, but I knew I couldn’t forget what had happened.

I went and talked to my pastor the next day or so, and he told me about the World Race and how that might help me figure out where God wants me to go.

I applied, got accepted for a different route, and started fundraising, with absolutely no belief that I was really going to do this thing.

Anyway, here I am, less than $1200 from being fully funded, in month 2 of my Race.

The extra crazy part, I’m in Haiti serving at Mission of Hope, where Pastor Brian and Jordyn ran into the World Racers that they would tell me about.

God works in amazing ways and He cares so much about us that He sets up divine appointments in our lives to get us where He knows is best for us.

So far, we’ve poured concrete, cut grass with machetes, painted, and picked up trash to help improve the area for the people who live here, and to make room for more people to live at MOH.

Proverbs 16:3 Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established.

Thank you to my supporters and my prayer partners for believing in me and what God wants to do in and through my life. If you would like more info about MOH, check out their website; they are an incredible organization.
