I don’t know what it is about little kids, but they just steal my heart everytime! This past week while visiting team Considered Lost in Bangalore, I had the opportunity to go with them and visit a local children’s home called Jireh Trust. On my race, I was able to work with kids a few times and even go to some orphanages, but this place was different. It was like stepping into a bubble full of light and joy and laughter. I don’t remember the last time I had so much fun ministering to children, and it’s probably because they ministered to my heart more than I did to theirs.

These children have nothing, yet they have a faith in the Lord that is inspiring and a few amazing people that truly believe in them. Despite our efforts in the States to set our children up for success, so many of them falter and drown in the ways of this world. Why? Perhaps our focus is not where it should be. One look at this children’s home and you easily see that it is lacking funds, BUT, what it does have is a solid foundation in the Lord. The director and volunteers at this home are those rare gems who can see the bigger picture. They understand that what these kids need to succeed is not of this world, but comes from our Father.

And it is working.

These children are so well behaved and so in love with God; it truly is inspiring. The love they have for the Lord and for each other is so thick in that place, you can’t help but be overcome by it. I was only there for a few hours, but I will carry those moments and those children in my prayers for a long time after.

We have had the honor and privilege to go to a children’s home called Jireh, which is Hebrew for The Lord Will Provide. Currently, there are 12 underprivileged children living there right now, boys and girls ranging from all ages. 4 to 14! Jireh Trust is a non-profit and public charitable trust established in May of 2006. Mr. Thelilungront Khaling and his wife, Sendme Saka raise these children with little or no support from others.
