Africa: Check. Made it.

It's been a dream of mine since high school, and I finally made it to Africa! Words cannot describe the excitement and anticipation I had days before landing.

Ministry this month is not like my previous months serving on the world race.

Typically we are partnered with a ministry for the month and our lives and month revolve around the ministry or organization.

For October/Month 10 my team and I are traveling the Eastern Cape of South Africa in search of Unsung Heroes.

Unsung Hero (n.):
Men and women who are dedicated to serving some of the most impoverished populations
in the world, yet rarely receive recognition for their dedication and service. These givers may also live with meager conditions but give consistently from an abundance of God’s love. Their names may not be in history books, their acts unknown to the rest of the world, while unrecognized, they shake a generation and move a culture and ultimately build the Kingdom.

The Unsung Hero Program is designed to connect and network with new ministries all over the world. As a ministry contact with the World Race, we would send a team to partner and work with their ministry for a month at a time.

Instead of lodging, food, and the general idea of what is taking place within a month being already sorted out with a ministry, my team and I are on our own to figure this all out! (With a little guidance and assistance from our home office in Georgia of course)

We originally thought we would be traveling to the main cities of Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth, and Jeffrey's Bay but due to limitations in our allotted budget we are only able to hit the first two cities.

I am all about this Unsung Heroes month. It sparks a fire inside my business minded self, and I get excited about the potential of this month to grow in my faith, trusting The Lord, and my strengths. I am also really excited to see the ways that God will move this month.  Our intention as a team is to be more spirit led and asking The Lord for direction and divine appointments.

Please be praying for our safety this month as well as overall well being and staying present with less than 50 days left on the race!

If you or someone you know might have contacts in the East London/Eastern Cape area let me know!
