My favorite author, Shauna Niequist writes,

“…..What I can do is offer myself, wholehearted and present, to walk with the people I love through the fear and the mess. That’s all any of us can do. That’s what we’re here for.”

So, to everyone who has been praying for me and for all of you who have messaged me, a HUGE thank you goes to you! Thank you for wholeheartedly offering your time and prayers and encouragement to walk through this mess of an adventure with me. Sitting in a hotel room for 8+ days straight can get a bit lonely sometimes so thank you for making me feel loved and missed and cherished from so far away!

Now, some BIG shout outs go to:

Erion, our host: Thank you for helping us navigate the hospital and treating me like family. You are selfless, generous, compassionate, and kind, and goodness gracious we are thankful that the Lord placed my team in your hands this month. We also adore your family!

Lindsey: Thank you for helping me in the hospital and for staying with me in the hotel as I recover. I cherish our breakfast dates and I think since I asked for you after surgery when I was unconscious makes it pretty clear how much I love yah.

Emily: Sorry for waking you up in the middle of the night but thanks for sitting with me on the bathroom floor. Thank you for staying with me overnight in the hospital and for advocating for me during all the craziness. You brought me coffee and you basically know what I need before I even ask, so I’m extremely grateful for your friendship and the way you still want to hangout with me even though I’m boring.

Eric and Krystal: Thank you for being so loving and thoughtful. You lived up to your nickname of “mom and dad” and I just felt better having y’all around. Also, sorry you got kicked around the hospital as y’all tried to sleep… you both are the real MVP’s.

Jacob: Thank you for waking up so early to meet me at the hospital. People probably liked me better in the pre-op room because of your new Albanian style. Also, thank you for buying me food even though I couldn’t eat after surgery…I’m still nibbling on some of the crackers.

Random granddaughter of one of my roommates: Thank you for always starting and stopping my fluid bag for me. Sorry I bled all over your hand. You took it like a champ.

***Lindsey, Emily & Krystal: Thank you for helping me go to the bathroom…I think the hospitals decision to have no seats on the toilet is one of their worst decisions.

Linsey: I also owe you an apology for waking you up in the middle of the night in tears. But thank you for you daily Facebook messages and for always having the biggest smile on your face when you come visit. Also, thanks for making me laugh…I appreciate it even though it actually hurts to laugh.

Santiago: You know strawberries is one of my love languages so thank you for that. Also thank you for making me meals and spending some good quality time with me as I recover.

Sarah: Thank you for being a nurse and for trying to get the surgeon to answer my questions…happy I could sacrifice myself and you could be real nurse again. You also put my mind at ease and your serve people well and your pretty funny so I like you a lot.

Jess: Thank you for going above and beyond to serve me. I feel better having you around. Thanks for literally sitting next to me all day so I didn’t have to be alone. You also call me “sweetie” and “darling” and that makes me feel loved.

Mom & Dad: I apologize for the horrific midnight phone call. I’m impressed with us though because I didn’t cry and y’all didn’t panic so I think we are improving. Thank you for making my recovery as comfortable as possible and even letting me be on this adventure…because I know that inadvertently means you’re on this adventure as well. I also like our daily phone calls, so lets keep that up!
