Dear family, friends, and strangers reading Hillary’s blog.
This blog was not written by Hillary, but by the other members of her team. As team Joyfuls, we have been with Hillary since day one of her World Race journey. We have gotten to see her grow and serve the Lord in India, Nepal, Vietnam, and Cambodia. We wanted to take a moment to share with you how God is moving in and through Hillary’s life.
Anna Beth: Since day one of the race, Hillary has sought to make everyone feel heard & accepted just the way they are. No need to put on face. She is confident in who the Lord has made her to be but also extremely relatable. Over the last 4 months I have seen Hillary lead by her actions AND her words. She is not two-faced. She is real. She is funny. She is IN LOVE with Jesus. She has carried our team when days were rough and energy was lacking with her naturally joyful personality. She has become a superstar in every country with her on-the-spot dance routines. It has been a privilege to live life with her and experience the race with her. I am thankful for her similar taste in food, adventure and sour candy. Hils is a forever. “Her cool ways are awesome.”
Allison: Hillary is so compassionate. She will literally cry with those who are crying and be just as excited about good news as you are. She is the friend you can always count on and she will bring a smile to the face of anyone who is around her. Her dependence on the Lord is amazing, even when she is hurting or sick. She definitely leads by example in all areas of her life. She is willing to do the things outside her comfort zone like share in front of a church service we didn’t plan on going to. She pushes people to step out but is the first to help you back up if you fall. She is literally the best definition I’ve seen of a servant leader.
Linsey: Hillary is gifted in making anyone feel so important. She loves God with all her heart and it flows over to people around her. I admire her vulnerability and transparency which opened opportunities to learn and grow as a team. I have enjoyed our random, yet insightful conversations. You can count on Hils to always be on time and available when you need her. Hil, thank you for always bringing your bright smile to the team. It won’t be the same without you.
Jenna: Hillary is such a light for the Lord and our team. Without her there would have been a lot less sunshine and laughter these past few months. She has built so many relationships and invested her time and heart into so many people around the world. I have seen her grow in many ways and persevere in the face of continual sickness. She doesn’t let that hold her back and she keeps on fighting and trusting God for strength. Hillary has helped me grow and I’m so grateful for being on a team with her.
Quinn: Hillary is kind. She is loving. She is joyful. She is strong. Over the past four months I have seen Hillary grow in so many ways. I have seen her learn on the Lord more and trust that He will provide for her. I have seen the way she loves and welcomes everyone. She builds amazing friendships and I am so happy to call her my friend. She has always been there for a nice hug or a shoulder to cry on. She always has the right words to say! She is an amazing dancer and it is definitely one of her hidden talents and she has been able to use this gift every month. I have enjoyed watching her interact with the children. She always has at least one child walking beside her and that is because of the way she loves them. Our team would be the same without her! I have loved seeing her grow and I can’t wait to see what is in store for her.
Janibel: Hillary is such an amazing woman of God. She has been such a blessing to our team. She has a way of making everyone she meets feel important and valued. She is kind, loving, encouraging, relatable, compassionate, inspiring, and bold. Her joy is truly contagious. She also has some killer dance moves! These past few months I have seen her grow in boldness and vulnerability. I love to see how she interacts with the children and serves those around her. She is strong and keeps fighting even when things get tough. I love Hillary. I am blessed to have met such a beautiful soul. Our team would not be the same without her.
