This month for ministry we are working with Jireh’s Children’s Home. Jireh’s Children’s Home believes in providing a home, education, and family to children who lack this. The parents, Morong and Sendmi, have three biological children and have taken in nine others. Some children still live with their parents nearby, some have left their families altogether, and some are orphaned. However, they all spend their time at the home. Marong and Sendmi believe in quality over quantity and that the Lord will supply all of their needs, which has been the case for the last 10 years.

Marong and Sendmi provide these children food, a home, education, and so much love. In this home they are cherished, and cared for, and they know they are precious in God’s eyes.

Our day typically consists of a morning devotional with the kids before school and breakfast at 9:30. A time of prayer or painting and then lunch at 1:30. Then we have free time to plan for our evening ministry where we play games, sing songs, and teach a Bible story to the kids. After “singspiration” and stories we help the kids with homework or I lead them in a dance party. Hip Hop with Hillz has become a regular thing so shout out to all the mixers and people at TCU that molded me and shaped me into the dancer I am today. Some evenings we have had other children come from nearby or from another Children’s home, so “the more the merrier” is a big thing around here.

Our team is adjusting here in Bangalore. Adjusting to India with the cows walking down the street and living in community. We are adjusting to being woken up by a literal dog pow wow at 4am and even dealing with sickness abroad. But ultimately our time is made easy by our hosts who serves us by trying really hard to get us hot water for showers, by making us food that reminds us of home, and for making us feel welcomed. Our hosts, ministry, and the kids have been a huge blessing to all of us and they give us a good amount of good in each day.
