It feels crazy to me that I just spent 4 months in Asia and now I’m in a completely new continent (Africa). Soon I will be sharing some of the biggest revelations I had during my time in Asia, but for now, here’s a quick update on where I’ll be this month:

For the month of February I’ll be in Botswana where my team and I are working with Botscru (Campus Crusade for Christ) at the University of Botswana. Their goal is to be a community where the gospel can capture hearts, transform lives, and launch men and women into a lifelong adventure with Jesus Christ. I’m excited that I get to be a small part of this.

This is what an average week is meant to look like for us:

Monday – Thursday: My teammates and I go with Botscru staff to evangelize on campus. During this time, we get the opportunity to meet students (or staff) as they hang out on campus and talk to them about their faith or share the Gospel with them. We also invite them to Botscru’s Thursday evening meetings where they can learn more about having a relationship with Christ and can get connected to long-term Botscru staff. On Thursday evenings, there is a Botscru meeting that is open to all students on campus.

Fridays: Each Friday is different. We do not evangelize on campus on these days, as it is more of a day for meetings, vision casting, etc.

Unfortunately, though our weeks are meant to look like this, a strike on campus has changed these plans. The university is now shut down indefinitely, meaning we can neither evangelize nor have our Thursday meetings.

If you’re reading this, I’d like to ask for you to join me in the following prayers:

-Pray for safety and a return to peace on campus. (To be clear, my team and I are in no danger at all)

-Pray for the Botscru staff, that my team can be a blessing and encouragement to them during our stay.

-Pray for my team, that we are bold in creating other ministry opportunities while we wait for this strike to end, and that we continue to grow in unity with the Father and with one another.

Thanks for your constant love, encouragement, and prayers, friends.
