Hello Everyone!  I am back from Work Crew at Lost Canyon.

Those 4 weeks went by faster then I ever could have imagined, however at the same time I feel like that session at Lost Canyon started such a long time ago. That was my 5th time doing a month long session however during this one I made some of the deepest most impactful friendships in my life.

It was so refreshing to be in a large community of authentic Christians, my age, who lived out their faith by humbly serving Christ and by finding true joy in being with each other and Jesus!  I have experienced Work Crew many times before but what made this one so special and unique is the amazing people I got to meet and share life with, even if it was only for a little while.

I had the chance to be friends with everyone, and pour my heart out and go deep with a few.  From my experience this is what I feel called to do in community setting, I can’t give 100% to everyone so I feel that God calls me to invest my time and love into a select few while still caring for everyone else.

If I were to sum up my Work Crew in three hashtags they would be.

#Connor

#Adam

#Sam

I know that my readers know nothing about them, however these three were very close to my heart during that session.  They taught me so much about myself and helped me become closer to Christ.

From them I learned about actively choosing to pursue Christ every day and the joy that comes from it, humbly serving others and being secure with the person I am, and the standards that I want to set for a future wife.  I am so glad that in the story of my life I had the opportunity to share a chapter with these amazing friends.  I hope to see more chapters with them in the future!

I am torn apart having to leave my friends from Work Crew but so thankful I got the chance to be with them for a month.  A quote I heard from my friend Braeden says you will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart will always be elsewhere.  That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place.

The whole Session taught me a lot and got me soooo excited to become a missionary!  I wouldn’t quite say that it was a training experience for my trip, but it set me on the right track, and instilled in me an excitement to serve Christ and live in Community with my racers.

!HUGE UPDATE!

(this is where the mind blown part comes in)

So prior to leaving for Work Crew I had about $8500 raised

When I checked the status of my fundraising a few days ago I had reached 11,770.07!!!!!!

I was honestly left speechless,

This gives me so much affirmation that this is what God has planned for me this next year, and that he is going to do huge things with me and the other racers during the World Race!

Thank you everyone so much for your support whether it was financial or through prayer or both.  It has made such a big difference in my life and without the support me becoming a missionary would not be possible.

The date for my training camp is fast approaching!  Come July 19th I will be traveling to Atlanta Georgia, and will be staying for a week to receive my training for the big trip!  I am so excited to finally meet my fellow racers in person and become closer friends with them.
