This month of ministry looks very different than last month. We are working with Agape Missions in Lalitpur, Kathmandu. It is not illegal to be a Christian in Nepal, but it is illegal to convert anybody to another religion. Because of the Hindu majority it is hard for Christians to spread the gospel, and many Christians have been thrown in jail because of evangelizing. Because of this Agape Missions often just relies on the prayer walking and relational ministries.

We leave the house everyday at 7am to do slum ministry, by that I mean walking around the slums silently praying to ourselves and playing with the children that see us and follow us. The other morning on our way to the slums, Lazarus, one of our faithful brothers in the Lord and our translator, told us that we will actually be going to a large Hindu temple instead, the Pashupatinath Temple. Lazarus told us that people from all over Asia come to this temple to pray and to burn the bodies of their loved ones in a holy place.

While in India I had asked God to show me how he sees people, I wanted to see people through his eyes. And that day he answered my prayer. That day he broke my heart, he showed me sadness when his people are blindly wandering far from him.

As we were walking through this spiritually dark temple, and my heart was heavy with sadness, God showed me something else. I had an ah-ha moment. When we are walking through these places, whether it is a Hindu temple or down the main street in Vernon, we are bringing God with us. Whether we are preaching, praying or playing with street kids, with the Spirit is interceding for us we have the amazing privilege to bring God to places that really need him.
