I have been house sitting at my mom’s house in the mountains of GA for the past couple of weeks. My companion has been a 2 year old Irish Setter named Luke.
Being up here, has been an amazing reminder of the Lord’s glorious provisions and has lead me to worship more with my guitar.
I began playing/learning on the Race and pursued it a little more while I was in India. I am definatly not amazing, but I love going out to the vista point here and just sitting and playing, while looking upon the mountains that surround me. Praise the Lord that he hears my heart and not the quality of playing!
Last week, I got an urge to lead worship somewhere, but I did not know where or for whom. I was asking the Lord about where I could lead. I asked my friend Lindsie, whose dad is a pastor of a small church up here if it would be ok if I just played one song for worship at the church. She said yes, but I did not have plans to go there that Sunday and so it would have to wait for a couple of weeks.
My plans changed that weekend as I am easily convinced and a friend of mine came over and I decided to go to church in Gainesville. Although, it was not a normal service….it was church on the street. One Sunday a month, sunday schools from this church go out and have service with the homeless people in Gainesville. I love the idea, but this meant me missing my Sunday school class, and therefore not having my fellowship that I would normally have….in other words…I definately complained a little…I wanted to just fellowship with my people.
When we get there, we find out that the people who were supposed to lead worship, could not come. They asked us if we could sing….haha…definitely love to sing but not that great at it. So they pulled me up to the front and along with a couple of other guys, lead worship. The spirit of the Lord was definitely there and the Lord knows what He is doing. So lesson learned. When you get the urge to do something for the Lord, DO IT. No matter how good/bad you think you are the Lord is teaching you to listen and if you choose not, then you are only missing out. God does not need us but He wants to include us!
