First off, my apologies for the lack of communication via
blog these past few weeks.

It’s hard to believe in one week we’ll be landing on
American soil. And on July 30th I’ll finish debrief-the same date I
finished the World Race one year earlier.

It’s been an incredible two months here. I didn’t know I
could enjoy leading a team so much. I didn’t know I could enjoy ministry so
much. I didn’t know I could love so much.

Meet Chamar (name changed for privacy purposes).

                             (me and Chamar)

This sweet little nugget arrived at the children’s home with
his older brother just a few months ago.

                      (Chamar’s brother)

They come from a village with a heavy terrorist population.
Our pastor shared that most every home in this village has several guns and the children are exposed to excessive violence at a very young age.

When he arrived, Chamar acted out aggressively and got into a lot of trouble. When we arrived, he was pretty closed off to receiving love
and affection. Perhaps one of the greatest parts of ministry-one of the
greatest miracles of this summer-has been watching him open up more and more to
receiving love and affection.

Where he once pulled away from touch, he now relishes in
being cuddled, tickled, and held.

When I think about leaving him, my heart breaks, but I trust
the Lord will continue ministering to his heart in ways far greater than I could
ever do.

It’s been an awesome, Christ-filled summer of love.

Please pray for our hearts and our boy’s hearts as we
prepare to leave next week. And pray for Chamar-that He would come to know God’s
love for Him and that despite what the world has spoken to him, that he is a
good boy.

Love from India,

Heidi
