Oops.

It’s been just over a month since my last update. And now I’m in a new continent. Sorry for not updating sooner!
India wrapped up well. It was by far the most physically challenging month, but also one of the best. We began construction on the church in the village and the plan is for an upcoming World Race team to return to the village, continue ministering to them, and to complete construction.

And now…

Month 10 is here! We have been in Romania for three weeks. It’s a whole new world compared to what we’ve experienced the past nine months and I’m LOVING it. Here are just a few of the things I love:

-Romania is the most AMAZING smelling country we have been to. There are beautiful flowers everywhere. Rosebushes, honeysuckle, mmMMmm. Even as I sit here typing this, the wind is blowing the smell of fresh flowers into our home.

-Cherry trees line the streets, ready to be picked.

-The temperatures are amazing! Typically in the 70s, though one day it got down to the low 60s (and I was SHAKING as though it were a winter day in Michigan. I was shocked to find out it was actually 63 degrees).

-Real mattresses to sleep on.

-Real coffee! After nine months of instant, this coffee drinker is one happy camper.

-Rain and thunderstorms.

-A kitchen to cook in!

-Weekend trip to Budpest, Hungary where we bought $5 tickets and were moved to the SECOND ROW!

-And most importantly, our ministry this month! We are partnering with an organization that has a children’s home currently housing five children as well as a center that provides tutoring and a safe place for children to go after school, a free summer camp for low-income children, and a support group for Mom’s and their infants.  So far this month we have spent our mornings painting the children’s center, our afternoons playing with the children there, and our evenings with the kids at the children’s home, which is on the same property as the house we are living in.

The kids here are desperately in need of love and attention. Though the physical circumstances here are better than previous months, my heart breaks for these children more deeply than in any other country. Please be praying that we are able to effectively minister to them and pour out God’s love onto them and continue to hold them in your prayers long after our team leaves this country.
