Training camp aka Bootcamp for your spiritual life! This past week has been incredible but extremely stretching for me. I had been pushed out of my comfort zone on the first day and continued to be pushed throughout the week.
Run down of the week: We would get up at 6:30 am pack our tents, sleeping pad, sleeping bag up for 7:00am. We would then have a 30 min workout with the group which entailed: running, hiking with our backpacks, bootcamps, yoga, tag etc. Have quite time from 7:30am to 8:00am then breakfast. After breakfast we would have a service then lunch more services then dinner and end the night with more services. We got to bed by 10:30pm- 11:00pm. For the most part the rest of the week would be like this but our afternoons changed to team building exercises as well to see who our team would be (who we will be travelling with coming this September).
Things I learned: Topics we talked about were the Presence of God, Intimacy with God, Dealing with Lies, Grieving, Repentance, Healing Wounds, Forgiveness, The Holy Spirit, Feedback and the Voice of God. Some of the key things I learned this week was that God has a billion friends but not very many face to face friends.. We want to not just be a friend of Jesus but be a friend who wants to get to know him more and who pursues His heart! We need to identify the lies we have in our life with the Holy Spirit and bring them to light and then replace them with truth. Why? Because if you agree with lies they will enslave you! There is no movement forward or going into the kingdom without repenting (Matthew 3:2). Repenting is essential to healing the soul. If we had lies going through our heads, didn’t forgive those who have hurt us, never grieved for those how may have left us etc. I know I wouldn’t be able to feel free to be able to go on this journey. AS these things would hold me back. I asked God to show me what I need to take care of this past week so I can go on this Mission Trip with a prepared heart and nothing is able to hold me back for what God is wanting me to do. Taking care of all these things were really hard to see come forward at once it was very hard but God has given me such a relaxing peace!
We also learned about feedback how there is positive and constructive feedback. Positive is something like: “I really appreciated that you opened the door for me because it shows how much of a servant heart you have” while a constructive feedback is “I love your personality and the way you show compassion and love for others but I have noticed you are gossiping about others behind there backs. I would appreciate it if you could stop doing that? “. I always knew what feedback was but never spoke it out to people as things would come up. This was hard for me when we had to sit with our team and give feedback as I had never done it like this before. This is going to stretch me as I want to continue doing this so I get used to giving feedback as it is healthy and prevents build up of anger.
God taught me lots this week and I can’t wait to see what else He has up His sleeve!
Pray for me as I am learning more about prophecy this is something we have also learned at camp and I am wanting to put it into action!
Here are some pictures from this week: Enjoy π

This is my squad there is about 50 of us going to Asia!

My squad as we are going to our 30 minute hike with our backpacks. We also had to take our bags and unpack them and repack them in the mornings when we had to sleep in our tents.

This is my team that I will be travelling with this September. Its such a great group of people who love the Lord and want to serve! Our team name is Mountain Movers. π
I have more stories to share of which God has done at training camp but I can’t fit it all in this blog so I will do another one to finish off some stories π
Thank you once again for all your love and support! I love you all dearly and am blown away by all your kindness.
Be blessed,
Heidi π
