I grew up in a Christian home. I was raised going to church every Sunday with my parents and siblings. For the most part I have always felt very close to God I mean I read my devotions, tithed at church, prayed before every meal and before I went to sleep. Seems like a true Christian, right? Wrong.. Although all of those things are very good and God cares about all of them. What He really cares about is the relationship you have together. You need to have a true relationship with Jesus Christ. You need to show Him your weaknesses and what’s on your heart, become vulnerable in Christ. You are then really able to feel that Holy Spirit being poured over your body you will then begin to develop a true love relationship.
When you really start to get to know God the devil really tried to pull you down. It could be through your own mind, through friends, co-workers, anything! This is really were God tests us sometimes to see how dedicated we are to Him, and if we are up to fighting this challenge or letting the devil walk all over us.
After accepting this offer to go on the race I have never like I had to fight so hard for Jesus in my whole life. Obstacle after obstacle kept coming onto me, almost like I was being put to a test to see how hard I will fight for God and His people. Even though the devil is trying really hard to get me it almost feels like a good thing at this time too. (Yeah I know, you’re thinking how can the devil be a good thing to any circumstance) But for me He is making me push that much harder to reading my Bible, to dig deeper in Christ because I know the more I dig deeper in Christ I feel an overpowering sense of peace which is so comforting to me. This makes me want to see learning more about who my God is, since I know He is able to fight off the devil and keep Him away from getting under my skin.
Read Joshua 1:6-9 “Be strong and courageous because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to your forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left; that you may be successful wherever you go. Don’t let this book of the law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? To be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged; for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” NIV
I want to encourage you today that if the devil is trying to tear you down whether it be over the silliest thing like the weather, to the most important and heartbreaking thing like someone close to you has passed away, to keep pressing into God. When you keep pressing into Him no matter how hard it is, He will bless you for trying! Today dig deep into Gods presence take time to set aside so you can see the miraculous things God can really do! Don’t let the devil take away what God has pushed so deeply into your heart!
