The Lord constantly puts people in your path to surprise you. He did it once again this month. We followed the Lord to and fro throughout Honduras wondering where we were going and why. There were some tough times for a while when I would look and ask the Lord what He was thinking bringing us there. I am so glad he is sovereign and patient with us. He would tell me just trust Him and keep going. Well, God never fails us. He answered our questions by the end of the month. It’s like He was whispering, “I told you so. You didn’t believe me did you.” But He came through once again, like He always does. He took us to Utila where we met these incredible men and women from the army. We got to know them over 10 lbs. of grilled snapper and grouper while we were all on the island, and then lo and behold, we decided to go to Comayagua and hang out with them on the army base. I was not prepared for what the Lord was about to teach me through our new friends.

Adam, Sheldon, Dusty, Van, Emile and Rachel. Thats the names of the 5 guys and girl that rocked our world this last week. We all got to be close friends. They were so incredible to us. They worked hard to get us on base. They took us around and showed us the helicopters they fly in. The let us hang out in their rooms while they worked and then came to hang out during off time. We ate together, we laughed together, we danced together, and talked about everything. We got to pour our lives back into them. We got to share who the Lord is in our life with them. They accepted us and loved us as brothers and sisters in a way I have never quite seen before and the feeling was completely mutual. By the time we left them (one of the hardest good-byes we have had all year), all we could say to each other was “Thank you.” It was enough then.

But now I need to elaborate. To the guys and Rachel: Thank you for your friendship, love, laughs, fun, dancing, tears, music, movies, food and drinks, sailboats, pontoons, learning to dive (almost), hanging out in the hooches, HALO, CHINOOKS and BLACK HAWKS, looking out for us, taking crap because of us, working your tails off for us, listening to us, sharing your lives with us, putting your lives on the line for us and our country, your honor and bravery, your kindness, your love for each other, and just being who you are. We love you all and we will see you all again.

To the Lord: Thanks for showing us why. Thanks for loving us so much that you let us meet them. Take care of them. Show them who You are, and how much You love them.
