Big Puffy (a.k.a. my cozy goose-down jacket) and I took the dog for a walk earlier this evening. The sun had long since set and the moon had yet to rise, but we’d begun our walk down the back alley – our steps lit only by my headlamp and dim starlight.
I’m not even sure why I happened to look up – but just as I did, a star shot across the sky dragging a glittering-gold tail behind it.
Four whole seconds of fairytale wonder.
This is the second shooting star I’ve seen like this. The first was only a month ago at WR Training Camp – and that time I had ASKED God to show me a shooting star. Which moments later – He did!
Tonight was a complete surprise.
I know it was a gift from Him.
He’s reminding me that He’s right “here.” That He can give me shooting stars whenever He wants. That nothing is too big, or too hard, or too wasteful when it comes to loving His kids.
For me: shooting stars speak of dreams, and wonder, and possibilities.
Tonight I believe God wanted to invite me to remember who He is, and what He’s like, all over again.
“But with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26
