The truth be told, I had never heard of the World Race or Adventures in Missions until Thursday, July 30, 2015.  I woke up that morning to God saying: “Today is the day to start preparing.”  I didn’t have a clue as to what I was supposed to be getting prepared for – but I turned my heart towards watching and listening, waiting to see what God had planned.

Up until that point, I had been applying for internships at the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) in California.  I have spent the last two years there as a student and had plans to return, but after connecting with nine different mentors to intern under, it became blatantly clear that although they all would love to have me – God was leading me somewhere else.

Back to that Thursday in July: I went to my job as a florist and let my boss know that my plans had changed – I wouldn’t be returning to California for the Fall…I would eventually be leaving the job, but I just didn’t know when.  That afternoon, I returned home to an email from a BSSM friend with information about a potential internship at Bethel.  The funny part was she somehow sent me the business name of the mentor’s internship, plus a blog address that was connected to the World Race.  She wasn’t sure how the blog address got in there – the only connection between the mentor and the World Racer was that they have the same name with one letter difference (Anne/ Annee).  Crazy.

The next thing I know, I am watching the World Race promo video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiYUDhkLpTw) and bawling my eyes out.  I have dreamed of doing something like this since high school, even writing about my dream more recently on my Joy Rising blog: (https://dirtyoldhikingboots.wordpress.com/2014/11/14/dreams-part-2/) Please check it out!!!

And so, here I am, 34 days later – following God towards something I have only dreamed about.

“If the vision for your life doesn’t scare you – it’s too small.”
